Manual productions, at the NFHS Network, are any production that does not utilize our Pixellot platform. These broadcasts require people on site at event time to manually produce the broadcast controlling cameras, graphics, audio and the like. Some productions are as small as one person and can scale to massive multi-camera productions with a large staff.
If you're interested in creating a manual production at your next major event we have some tips for you!

Download PlayOn! Producer
The NFHS Network and PlayOn! have created a dedicated piece of software for broadcasting on the Network. PlayOn! Producer is a powerful piece of software that aims to simplify your broadcast experience. A powerful graphics library that is catered to the sport you're capturing as well as access to the NFHS Network's vast library of team logos.

Purchase a Capture Device
PlayOn! Producer takes your video, adds graphical overlays and then compresses and uploads your video to the NFHS Network. The one step that needs to be taken care of is the ingest of video into the computer system. We recommend and support two different video capture devices: Elgato and StarTech. You should select one based on its compatibility with your camera and laptop.
Analog Option: Elgato
Compatible with standard USB ports and cameras with AV/RCA output. Purchase from Amazon here.
Digital Option: StarTech
Compatible with USB 3.0 ports and cameras with HDMI output. Purchase from Amazon here.
